Each market is open to customers from 9am to 2pm, weather permitting. The upcoming market is scheduled for Saturday, April 11th. The bulk of the flea market is set up at 1804 & 1900 Mt. Vernon Ave., in two nearby parking lots adjacent to the intersection of Mt. Vernon and East Bellefonte Avenues in the charming Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria (the largest lot is located behind the Salvation Army building.) An additional set up is located slightly north at Del Ray Farmhouse, 1913 Mt. Vernon Avenue. Altogether, approximately 70 vendors set up. Domino Magazine named this the best flea market in the state of Virginia. It's a bustling, friendly market with lots of great collectibles, jewelry, records, vintage clothing, household items, crafts and antiques. Do your part for sustainability by recycling (or perhaps upcycling) gently used items. You can also find some arts & crafts sold by the makers. Side note: Cash (especially ones, fives & tens) is gratefully accepted by virtually all of the vendors. And if you're interested in fresh produce, stroll a few blocks north on Mount Vernon Avenue to the weekly farmers market. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops to discover along the way.
